Recycled Plastic Chopping Boards Description
Recycled plastic chopping boards are fun and functional for both prep and serving.
We repurpose UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) into functional and beautiful boards. They are heavier than you might expect, easy to clean, resistant to mildew, acid, and alkali, and durable. The Yakai recycled chopping board is designed for durability and can be recycled again if desired.
Because the production needs to be completed in a press mold, random color spots or subtle color changes will occur in the high-temperature and high-pressure press, so each board is unique, and one cannot find two totally the same colorful cutting boards in the world.
Recycled Plastic Chopping Boards Materials
HDPE (high-density polyethylene) and UHMWPE (ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene) are two types of polyethylene, a thermoplastic polymer widely used in many industrial and consumer applications. They are completely safe, non-toxic materials that do not harm the environment during their manufacture or use. The colors are embedded throughout the material. Recycling HDPE and UHMWPE, and using them in their recycled form, is highly advantageous both to the environment and to manufacturing facilities.
Both HDPE and UHMW are recyclable and are considered to be environmentally friendly plastics.
Both HDPE and UHMW have wide applications in many industries, due to their favorable properties. They can be applied to
Food and beverage processing and storage gear
Kitchen gear: Cabinets, counters, and tables
UHMW and HDPE products like cutting boards, conveyors, pipes, and packaging can be safely used in food and beverage operations when properly rated for the application and can be for direct food and indirect contact.
